#CallMeCaitlyn

Sorry Kim. This is how you break the internet.

What can be said about Bruce Jenner that has not already been said? He embodies a principle that the American dream is built upon. Bruce Jenner is an important case study of our time. What Bruce is doing is a truly nobel and earth shifting feat. We here at Oyster Colored Velvet think it is important to follow this story closely as it helps many to focus on living their truth. Now Jenner takes it one step further, proving and reproving with this glossy magazine cover that he is no Kardashian, no fame whore, just a humble, flawed individual looking to push a different pressure point in modern society. He is ,in fact, is a gorgeous woman inside and out.

Bruce Jenner wants you to meet Caitlyn Jenner. Bruce, who first confirmed just last month that she is transitioning into a woman, has now landed the cover of  Vanity Fair. “I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me” Caitlyn tweeted.

The Olympian covers the July 2015 issue of Vanity Fair channeling Marilyn Monroe in a champagne-colored corset. Annie Leibovitz shoots the first portraits of Caitlyn, which were taken in her Malibu home. “As soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out I’m free,” Bruce said in an interview with the magazine.

Pulitzer Prize-winning contributing editor and author of ‘Friday Night Lights’ Buzz Bissinger interviewed Jenner for the cover story, in which Jenner talks about the journey to becoming Caitlyn.

Inside the issue Jenner opened up to Bissinger saying, “If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life.'”

The issue hits newsstands June 9 and we can hardly wait!
