New York Men’s Fashion Week To Debut In July?

Well it’s about time. Last summer, designer Michael Bastien started a conversation about the relevance of New York Fashion Week for men’s designers when he decided not to show. Bastien had shared, “September for men’s just doesn’t really work. I know everyone is trying hard to figure this out, but for now July is when we’re still selling the collection. It made no sense to show in September. Men’s buyers are in town for Project [tradeshow]; Michael Kors and Rag & Bone have started doing things in July.”

The idea had gained drive recently as sponsors have signed on, reports The New York Times.  Men’s designers have apparently received emails from representatives of the Council of Fashion Designers of America in October gauging interest. The C.F.D.A. is attempting what the British Fashion Council did so successfully when they moved its men’s wear from a single day at the end of London Fashion Week to a rich four-day London affair. I’m already picking out my looks.

When Channing Tatum isn’t grinding on a pole he’s looking terrified when getting a pedicure. Clearly the calming lavender scented elixir, swirling around his feet in the water, hasn’t made it up to his nostrils yet.

Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot the spring-summer 2015 black-and-white ads, where the singer rocks the collection’s cutout looks showing off her washboard abs.
