As many of you know, I got married in June at the handsome Oak Room at the Plaza Hotel in NYC. This was a complete dream wedding venue for us. We were the first same-sex couple to be wed at the famous restaurant, which is quite cool since The Oak Room started as The Men’s Bar, opening in 1907 as a male-only sanctuary. We were so happy to be a part of shattering old ideals of gender and sexism by becoming the first same-sex couple to be wed there.

I was informed that my ideal wedding venue had an opening and was given the green light to go ahead with wedding planning at the Oak Room 3 months out from the wedding. Over the years I have seen so many of my friends get super stressed about registering while caught up in the frenzy of wedding planning. So with only 3 months to plan the wedding, I didn’t get a chance to properly register for gifts.

But with the help of the Bed Bath & Beyond wedding registry, I am getting a second chance! Bed Bath & Beyond made registering for our wedding a total dream. It was so great to head to the store with Lorenzo and get to explore the beyond. I had no idea just how vast the beyond section is at the store and online. We were able to easily schedule an in-store appointment online within seconds.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable registry consultant that helped us through the entire registration process.

Our expert consultant was there in the aisles with us to give us advice and guidance, especially when it came time to figuring out how many place settings we should register for. It was a blast going around the store and scanning cool items that we both loved and knew we had to have.

Once we had selected our items, we went back to the online registry and learned more about the cool registry features. We were able to mark certain items as our favorite items so that those products would be purchased first by our guests. The registry consultant also showed us how we could easily monitor our registry to see what items were purchased and, best of all, showed us how we could easily update our registry from home just in case we decided we wanted that nut milk extractor, because you never knew you needed something so vague until you encountered it.

To top it all off, Bed Bath & Beyond has a completion program where we will get a discount on all the stuff nobody gave us. With the best prices, convenient locations, easy to use website and expert registry consultants it’s no wonder why Bed Bath & Beyond is the #1 most popular place to register for your wedding.

For you newly engaged couples, Bed Bath & Beyond offers “Rock your Registry” in-store events where you can talk to expert registry consultants, mingle with other engaged couples and get inspired to use your registry to step up your hosting game with in-store inspirations.

Since Lorenzo and I lived together for five years we didn’t need all of the gifts commonly found on a wedding registry.  Instead, we decided to refresh our home by registering for some cool furniture and home decor pieces that we picked out together. The furniture pieces made perfect group gifts. Our wedding party ended up getting us our cool new bed and night stand. With all the in-store and online options, it was so simple for Lorenzo and I to pick out a few key furniture and home decor pieces that really blended our style and created a refreshed home for us as we started our life as a married couple. We even got something for our baby (dog) Louis!

Check out our entire wedding registry ranging from a sleek new bed to super luxe gold silverware in the slideshow above, and head to my stylemaker spotlight page here!
