“All you need are numbers on the back of your shirt,” said the dude driving by in a tow truck, as he not so casually shouted in my direction. If my look today is an indication of anything, it has to be that we are approaching Season 2 of ‘Orange Is The New Black’. The Neflix show actually premiers tonight at The Ziegfeld Theater here in NYC. Aside from showing my excitement for the return of our favorite ladies behind bars, I believe an all orange look is tough, especially when shades of blood orange are in the mix. Let’s try to move past the notion that orange is for inmates or Halloween alone. Let your inner tough guy out this season and go for those citrusy hues. Wear orange the same way Johnny Cash used the color black. You know, black, that bold, unfussy color that has a certain “I don’t give a fuck” vibe, that everyone and their mother feels great in. Orange has this same power. If you are new to this notion, a marigold dress shirt and umber-colored pants is a great starting point. My outfit, purchased from OWEN, is ready for your purchasing pleasure below if you’re willing to take random comments from passerbyers in tow trucks.
