To a certain extent, all humans have a uniform. We know exactly what our staple look consists of and have become true creators of comfort.
We’ve, as a species, become obsessed with effortlessness. Form fitting and suffocating looks represent a time where the majority of society worked office jobs and drank copious amounts of scotch. Now the lot of us just partake in the later while opting for clothes that allow a bit more breathing room.
So let’s all take a peak at the rules of style by The Weeknd a.k.a. Abel Tesfaye, whose personal uniform that is defining effortlessness menswear right now.
One of Tesfaye’s main looks involves the boxy jacket. The singer always goes for bomber jackets, jean jackets, and military-style coats in boxy cuts. Pockets are essential ’cause there is no room in your skinny jeans.
Tesfaye’s also been a step ahead of the fashion industry in adopting the T-shirt cut in a roomier fit that’s longer than the hem of the jacket. It's not exactly a shirt, or a skirt. It's its own beast.
Style the look with pared-down, luxed-up sneakers of all varieties. Although hold off on your Stan Smiths. They might be too much of a dainty go to here, but souped-up Superstars or Nikes will work just fine.
