The Thought Process Of Getting Dressed For New York Fashion Week

NYFW and winter fit together as well as Kanye and his Grammy seat.

It’s unbearably cold outside and New York fashion week is upon us. These two things that fit together as well as Kanye and his Grammy seat – it’s just not a match and should never be united together again.

As I laid in bed this morning before heading out to attend Men’s day at Industria Studios, I had a series of questions that ran through my head.  Have those ice mountains melted? What is that white layer on the ground? Will there be more of that white stuff falling from the sky? Do I have to choose my shoes based on which provide the most efficient level of traction and which will not be destroyed by salt? Why is there so much salt on the ground? I wonder how many fur-wearing folks I will confuse for a yeti this week?

I decided to answer some of these questions and check the weather. I was delighted to see that today will be — 45 and sunny. Practically spring break! So crop top?

Over the past month I wore a number of looks that varied from trying to wear a blazer as outerwear, to a fur-trimmed parka. Today I think I can get away with something in the middle of these extremes. You know, wear one sweater as opposed to several. So I’ll go for a suit and sweater combo.  Or maybe a black leather biker and turtleneck. Or perhaps I should re-wear my monochromatic nude outfit? Still so unsure. Maybe I should have coffee first, before making such a intense decision.

As far as the salt sprinkled and slippery streets, I will rely on my wingtip Prada wedge platforms.
