We have come to expect certain things when we see a festival slideshow. There will be a slew of crop tops that will compliment denim cut-offs. There will be a lot fringe, florals and flower crowns. There will be sweaty crowds, beer and wine in plastic cups. There might even be the politically incorrect Native American headdresses. These will come to represent festivals of the past.
The days of Woodstock music festivals are over. Thank you. Now we have festivals with interactive experience features installations that combine technology, artistry, and design, created exclusively by New York-based artists. We are talking about Panorama NYC.
Once such creation is a large-scale interactive sonic experience that invites the audience to explore, manipulate, and create sounds in real time through tactile engagement created by Dave & Gabe. Via a series of silk cocoons inside of a larger undulating silk envelope, tension and movement of the audience are translated into various components of the 3D soundscape and immersive lighting environment. This and more techy creations came to life at the HP lounge at Panorama.
