Sometimes you just need to slip away to a private island and lose yourself in a sense of calm. If you are looking for a luxe yet accessible escape, look no further than Scrub Island Resort off of the British Virgin Islands. Located just off of the harbor from Tortola’s Beef Island airport, Scrub Island Resort is a 52-room getaway where guests can slip away from the chaos of the world.

After arriving via a private boat transport, it’s easy to forget about the world while chilling on palm tree lined beached and an infinity pool overlooking the marina complete with an in pool bar. If that's not enough to get you feeling chill, head to the Ixora Spa located on top of the island and opt for a massage, which incorporates fresh aloe from the island.

If you're looking to sleep in and hide away in your room you've come to the right spot. The guest rooms have stunning bamboo ceiling fans, teak furniture and large private balconies.  Suites include full size kitchens complete with Subzero and Wolf appliances and granite countertops. All bathrooms include separate showers and tubs.

The culinary offering on the Island are equally as impressive at the setting and design. My personal favorite is  Cardamom & Co. an upscale option with a menu that speaks to the spice trade and its impact on the flavors found throughout the Caribbean. The second option for dinning is Donovan’s Reef Marina Bar & Grill, an outdoor spot that serves up popular Caribbean favorites. Be sure to consult the on site sommelier, Jason who is super sweet and well versed in all wine especially Italian.

The staff on this resort is absolutely wonderful and will make this already wonderful experience even more memorable.
