Creating A Multipurpose Room

Being two-faced is a positive thing when it comes to design.

I am a HUGE fan of Bed Bath & Beyond, so it should come as no surprise that I turned to the brand when I wanted to update a room in my new home.

After living in a new house for a bit, you realize the initial way you styled and furnished it may not be for the best. Only time can lead to such a discovery. One such room in our home was located on the first floor that were using as a guest room. The room proved to be quite useless as ended up being a dumping ground for packages and other items. While we did have guests sleep over, it wasn’t happening enough to warrant having a bed taking up the entire room. This was also quite odd because the room is right off of our dining room and is a connecting room to the first-floor bathroom. We needed to rethink the space.

So, I linked up with Bed Bath & Beyond to help in creating a multipurpose room that is both functional and stylish. I decided to make this room a sitting room where I can easily work from or just have wine in. I started by selecting the Jaipur Living Hastings Round 8' Area Rug in beige/grey. I thought a round rug would help give the small room dimension. Then I fell in love with the Safavieh Ebo Modern Coastal 4 Tier Etagere Bookcase in white. I wanted a bookcase for the house but had no place for one until now. I wanted to add a natural element so I selected the Diamond Shape Acacia Wood Coffee Table in Brown. I continues the natural feel with Uttermost Mircea’s Petrified Wood Accent Table and the Cambium Tree Stump Stool in Silver.

Now it was time to select a sofa. I still very much wanted to room to function as a guest room, so I opted for a convertible sofa. I selected a light grey Sealy Bella Double/Queen True Sofa Bed. I styled the sofa with two Skyline Furniture Maze Gesso Multicolor Square Throw Pillow in cream and two Aura Silk Dupioni Box Square Throw Pillow in the sierra color. I also added a cozy vibe to the sofa with the Sheepskin 2' x 3' Accent Rug in black. I kept the grey theme with the side chair. I went for the Safavieh Manet Velvet Accent Chair in light grey.

For the décor I selected a A&B Home Atticus Bust Sculpture, Emissary Orion Gourd 9-Inch x 19-Inch Vase in white, and a Taylor Madison Designs Small Oval Seagrass and Maize Striped Basket.

Bed Bath & Beyond makes refurbishing a room exciting and stress-free. They have so many options for creating a multipurpose room that you can customize to your own desires. The website is so easy to use and offered everything you could ever need not only to furnish a room, but also decorate it with supreme style. I love surfing the site and discovering such cool items. I can’t wait to redecorate a space again. Perhaps I will look to our backyard for our next makeover.
