Harry Styles’ Latest Obsession

 

 

I’m a sucker for a bold word printed on a shirt. Admittedly, I have been known to wear a shirt printed with terms like, urban, Parisian, trust, mommy, meow and fuck, although most of those were not recent wearings, I think. So when I spotted Calvin Klein’s s Obsession sweatshirt walk down the catwalk in January, as part of the autumn/winter 2014 collection, I went nuts. Aside from the obvious coolness, the shirt became much more then just a boxy sweatshirt appliquéd with the word Obsession. It signaled Calvin Klein’s timeless fragrance of the same name and became a demonstration for designer Italo Zucchelli’s obsessive pursuit of a masculine ideal. Chiseled models in streamlined Calvin Klein threads exploring modern masculinity, what’s better then that? I’ll tell you. One Direction front man Harry Styles wearing the sweatshirt, that’s what.

Harry wore the Calvin Klein Collection popular number at day 2 of Radio 1′s Big Weekend at Glasgow Green in Scotland.  The singer challenged the idea of an engineered for perfection masculinity wearing the bold sweatshirt with second skin black jeans, Saint Laurent suede boots with a bold heel and a navy bandanna weaved through his locks. I become, dare I say, obsessed with the cool fem flare he gave to the ultra masculine shirt. I much prefer Harry’s Calvin Klein obsession to that of his Burberry heart patterned fixation.
