Although most summer getaways for New Yorkers entail trips up the Hudson River or out towards the Hamptons, The Avila Beach Hotel is making a strong case for luring visitors to Curaçao, just a little over a five hour flight outside New York City. (Basically the same amount of time it takes you to get home from the Hamptons on a Sunday night.)

Curaçao: a Dutch-flavored isle with blue seas, white sand, and bold color. This is what comes to mind when first thinking of the little island. But more than a beautiful destination, Curaçao is a nation in motion.

There is no better place to see the country’s growth then in the hotels on the beach in Curaçao.

The Avila Beach Hotel is a fun-filled epitome of casual seaside charm. Located in a the oldest hotel building, there is a spacious swimming pool, a beach side bar, the freshest local seafood and an outdoor jazz bar on a separate rooftop known as The Blues Bar, all just mere paces from the beach.

The property is a wonderful carefree retreat, best suited for couples, small groups of friends and families. The myriad of room formats on offer range from spacious suites boasting both ocean and city views. It's a great place to disappear from it all for a minute. Or two.
